Sigrid Trummer was born in Graz. She studied piano at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz (KUG) and the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna (mdw).
Sigrid frequently performs as a piano soloist, chamber musician, and song accompanist across Europe as well as China, Japan, Canada and the United States. Invitations to international festivals and radio and television broadcasts are a regular and joyful occurrence.
Sigrid is deeply drawn to the works of contemporary composers, including originating many premiere performances of works dedicated to her.
Currently she is deeply immersed in her next release, a CD with original compositions by contemporary female composers from Austria, featuring all new works dedicated to Sigrid. The tentative release date is scheduled for the end of 2025.
The works of female composers through the ages have long been a particular focus of study and practice for Sigrid Trummer . Consequentially, on three of her previous solo piano releases on CD she performed an all-female line-up of composers.
Sigrid also delights in curating and programming her frequent solo and chamber concerts like musical journeys through places and times. Part of the charm of these events are her spoken intros, informative as well as entertaining, in which she takes great care in providing a deeper familiarity for her audiences with the composers and their works that she is about to perform.
Her passion for musical education has also led to her joining the faculty of the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna. She is also honored to frequently serve as a juror at music competitions.
Sigrid Trummer is a member of "Artemis Piano Quartet Vienna".
A tango afficionado, Sigrid has also performed as part of the "Tangazo Quartet" and enjoys providing chanson accompaniment to vocalists – yet another sign of her extraordinary versatility.
